In September 2025, Schreiber et al. report on the first observation of the geodetic signal of Earth’s precession and nutation motion using a 250-day long time series recorded with the ultra-stable G-ring laser in Wettzell, Germany. With a higher temporal resolution, these measurements complement classical VLBI (very long baseline interferometry) observations with radio telescopes towards better geodetic models.
